Choosing a Hook Line and Sandbar trip from Morehead City
The company describes two kinds of outings. Its scenic eco tours include a sunset cruise, shelling on Sand Dollar Island and a run out to the Cape Lookout lighthouse. Its fishing charters range from a kid friendly inshore trip to an offshore charter for billfish in the Gulf Stream.
Every trip is private, and the website says tours leave from Morehead City. Captain Todd Burns, a USCG captain, reports more than 25 years on these waters. The business runs by appointment.
Booking a private charter with Hook Line and Sandbar
Settle your headcount and budget first. The company states that prices start at $500 and that one trip carries up to 6 guests. The captain says he is glad to tailor a trip ahead of time, so pick wildlife, shelling or fishing before you get in touch. You can text or call to book.

Google Reviews
We had an amazing experience with Hook Line & Sandbar Charters on their Scenic Eco Boat Tour! From the relaxing ride through Taylor Creek to a fun stop at a sandbar to search for sand dollars, every part of the trip was memorable. We even got to see dolphins along the way while taking in the beautiful water and scenery. Such a wonderful and relaxing experience — we highly recommend Hook Line & Sandbar Charters! A special shout-out to Capt. Todd for his flexibility and enjoyable conversation throughout the trip. He made an already wonderful experience even better.
We had and INCREDIBLE time with Captain Todd!! My husband, myself, and our son (7 yr) had the very best time searching for porpoises, and wild horses! The best part? We saw both! Captain Todd was so kind, and sweet with our son, stopping several times for us to “take a dip” so our boy stayed cool and had a blast! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much! It was a grand adventure!!!
Awesome day, went out bright and early. It took a little while to get out there to the fish but once we got there it was a blast we got on a bunch of fish and were able to take some good fish home, even caught a shark! Great prices too
