Our multiple qualifications in diverse fields and breadth of expertise in Design Engineering, Project Management, Project Controls, Scheduling, Quantity Surveying and the Law, uniquely positions us to engage on behalf of our clients with a wide range of participants in construction disputes (engineers, QSs and planners/ schedulers, legal counsel, external lawyers and barristers) with complete understanding of industry-specific language and terminology.
Our multi-qualified and highly experienced technico-legal specialists take the time to get to know our client’s unique situation. Our commissions vary from a simple independent review and report where we act as an independent expert providing an opinion, to the preparation of a claim management strategy and claim documentation that provides solid substantiation of our client’s rights. We are also registered solicitors and engineers, so we can assist our clients with the more complex dispute resolution and litigation proceedings.
We encourage and promote early settlement of disputes to reduce claim preparation costs, reduce dispute times, and lower the personal toll that construction disputes can take on clients. However, we do not want to place them in the strongest negotiating position.
We strive to support our clients across the building, infrastructure, rail and metro, mining, and oil and gas industries and take pride in the referrals and repeat business that have gained us the loyalty of our clients and have been pivotal in our growth.

Industries we work in.
Roads, Bridges, Overpasses, & Detours. Road, Highway and Rail construction projects are plagued by unanticipated conditions which cause disruption, lead to changes in scope, and cause cost overruns. Lump-sum projects with a fixed completion date affected by these are more susceptible to claims than projects based on the schedule of rates with a more flexible construction schedule.
Electrical, Windfarms, & Solar. IKEA furniture and wind farm projects share a lot of similarities. Flatpacks of turbines consist of tower, blades, blades, and a container with components. We dealt with issues ranging from unsuitable access roads, damaged blades, incorrect componentry, outdated manuals, and failure to obtain AEMO approvals (which we assisted with). We also served as expert witnesses in cost disputes.
Process Plants. Full life cycle. From long-lead procurement, assistance in sourcing design, performance guarantees, to preparation of submissions to obtain board approval and project financing. We also dealt with claims for design liability insurance, plant performance below specification, incomplete work, and rework.
Mining. We provide assistance from the formation of Joint Ventures to completing feasibility studies to bankable quality for board approval. We also create ECI and overall contracting strategies for project delivery. We can draft MOUs and advise on the separation of scope and delineation for battery limits, overseas equipment source and modularization, and intelligent modules.
Office Buildings. Over 20 years of building landmark buildings like the Star City Casino with carpark and offices, as well as hotel and apartment towers, and Lyric and Show Theatres. We worked on the Chifley tower building, Manly RSL Club swimming pools complex, Cronulla Sharks’ Stadium and many other residential estate with an emphasis on MEPs and F Claims.
Oil & Gas. Selection and drafting of appropriate contract model (EPC, EPCM, GMP, D+C, Cost Plus, and Bespoke), and technology transfers. Contracts for drilling, gas extraction, wellhead skids and compressors. Specialist piping, pressure reducing station, pulse columns, and storage of liquid petroleum and gas. Negotiation with authorities regarding permits, easements, or environmental issues.
Civil. Claims for unsuitable ground conditions, latent conditions, unforeseen utilities, cracks and tears on surface layer and slippage of asphalt due to incorrect sub-base or compaction. Claims for wrongful termination of contract, uninducted and unlicensed personnel, use of incorrect and unapproved equipment, and defence of unmeritorious claims.
Heavy Rail, Metro, & Light Rail. Metro, Tram and Bus-lane civil works including TVM tunnelling, underground, on-ground, and overhead alignment and corridors, to underground, on-ground and elevated stations with retail sections, ticketing and maintenance facilities. Heavy rail includes coal and iron ore loaders, unloaders, stackers, and reclaimers. We help clients with contract negotiation, authorization approvals, operations and maintenance contracts.
Smelters, Steel, Alumina, Gold. We have a proven track record of helping clients with land acquisition, native title issues, dealing with traditional owners, and managing contracts that deal with all aspects (worker camps and transport, water and sewer treatment, etc.)
